“What God Says About Condemnation & Judgment”

FOCUS (the core of the content to be communicated)

Last Sunday we looked at the beauty & blessings of justification & reconciliation. Today we’ll look at seriousness & significance of condemnation & judgment. There’s always more to learn about these realities as well as all the other realities God’s word reveals. But for today, we’ll trust God to make cakes to us what it is He says about condemnation & judgment.

Part of the reason it’s so important to get everything as right as we can concerning whatever the scriptures tell us is because to misinterpret them is to misunderstand & thus misrepresent God. Part of what it means to “do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) is to be diligent in your personal study of the words God’s given us.

When it comes to condemnation & judgment …

1. neither one of them is something Jesus came to do.

Condemning & judging people isn’t Jesus’ desire or plan. - John 3:17-19 & 8:1-11

2. both are upon & await those who reject Christ.

Only in Christ can & will anyone be free from them - Luke 6:37 / John 12:47-48

throughout the Bible. Write down your questions & thoughts as they come. Discuss them with a trusted friend.
